How to Get Your Partner on Board to Talk About Money

“How do I get my partner on-board to talk about money?”

This is hands-down one of the most frequently asked questions I get as a financial therapist. In this video, I break down what you are *probably* doing and share a more helpful approach to get you and your partner on the same page about money. According to research by Northwestern Mutual (2018) money is the leading cause of divorce in the United States. I believe that is preventable with open, honest, and kind conversations about money.

In a nutshell? If you want to talk about money with your partner, don’t bulldoze your partner and come at them like you are on the debate team. Elicit what’s important to them, make sure you are actually listening to them, and work toward getting on the same page.

I’ve created a FREEBIE for you if you want some help with what words to use when you have this conversation. In this free guide, I walk you through five different ways to get the money talk started with your partner.
